The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners has approved extensions of the swim team lane use agreements for the Chattahoochee Gold, Stingrays and Marietta Marlins at the county Aquatic Center in Holly Springs.
The three-year extensions, which spell out hourly rental fees for the 25-yard, 25-meter and 50-meter lanes and other activities, allow the local competitive swim clubs to continue holding practices throughout the year, according to a memo to the county board from Bryan Reynolds, director of the Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency.
“The Aquatic Center has sufficient lanes to allow use by all three teams while keeping lanes available for use by the general public, high school teams, etc.,” Reynolds said. “These agreements are expected to generate around $113,000 in revenue annually.”
The arrangement is for practice space only. Clubs may request additional dates and times for events.
