The Cherokee County School District, updating its high school commencement plans, said each graduating senior will be allowed up to two guests for in-person ceremonies later this month.

Revising a prior announcement restricting attendance to students and staff, Superintendent Brian V. Hightower said the district worked with the ceremonies’ host venue, First Baptist Church of Woodstock, to allow additional guests.

“We are extremely grateful that the church, as always, displayed a ‘we are here to serve’ attitude as we worked together to improve this year’s graduation for our students while continuing to meet health and safety guidelines,” Hightower said.

Graduating seniors will receive an email from the principals later this month with instructions for ticketing for guests and what to do upon arrival at the church. Information: https://bit.ly/2ZP99Ak
