If you’re in the market for 29 used school buses, you’re in luck: The Cherokee County School District will be putting them on the auction block in November, along with hundreds of other items – from a coffee maker to a xylophone – declared surplus by the school board.

The auction will be conducted by Jeff Dobson & Associates and is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Central Distribution Warehouse, 201 Mountain Brook Court, Canton. A preview begins at 8 a.m., and the sale starts at 9 a.m.

Among the auction items are the Freightliner school buses, model years 2003 and 2004, as well as a 2006 model year Ford Explorer XLT, Ford F-150 4WD, and Ford Crown Victoria sedan.

Other goods include classroom and office furniture; electronics including TVs, VCRs and DVD players; office equipment such as typewriters, laminators and paper cutters; appliances including microwaves, refrigerators, stoves, washers and dryers; power tools; and odds and ends such as weightlifting equipment, a piano and a chicken brooder.
