The federally funded Head Start program at two Cherokee County preschool sites has openings for children in the coming 2020-21 academic year, school district officials said.

The Head Start program at Ralph Bunche Center, Canton, and Johnston Preschool Center at Johnston Elementary School, Woodstock, provides free preschool to children who will be ages three and four by Sept. 1, according to a district announcement. Families must meet income eligibility requirements, the district said. Head Start students receive breakfast and lunch at no charge. The preschool centers follow the same calendar as other Cherokee County School District schools.

The full-day program is led by a certified teacher with a paraprofessional assistant, with separate classes for the 3- and 4-year-old age groups. Information: for Ralph Bunche, jo.morris@cherokeek12.net; for Johnston, ludi.allen@cherokeek12.net; or https://bit.ly/2XVrQl9
