The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners has renewed and enlarged upon a partnership agreement with Northside Hospital-Cherokee.

Northside will pay the county $30,000 to sponsor for one year Cherokee County parks and the Cherokee County Aquatic Center, up from $25,000 last year, and several additional scoreboards in the parks, according to a staff report to commissioners.

Among the benefits of being an exclusive health care sponsor, Northside will get recognition in the Cherokee Recreation & Parks Agency’s Play Cherokee quarterly publication, signage and an annual private pool party at the Aquatic Center, and a Sports Medicine Facts page on the CRPA website, the agreement says.

Also, monthly social media posts on CRPA and Aquatic Center sites with sports medicine information provided by the hospital, articles in electronic newsletters to program participants, and representation on 24 scoreboard panels in 10 county-maintained parks.
