Just in time for the Memorial Day holiday weekend, the Cherokee County Aquatic Center off Sixes Road near Holly Springs has reopened – though by reservation only.

Closed for more than two months, the Aquatic Center reopened its competition pool Thursday to swimmers who reserve lanes in 1.5-hour time slots. Up to five swimmers from a single household are allowed per reservation. To reserve a lane: https://bit.ly/2XhRU9H

Lanes are for lap swimming or water exercise only; no free play is allowed at this time. Guests must wear masks going to and from the pool; have their temperature taken at check-in; and shower before entering the pool. The main locker rooms are closed, but family locker rooms are available.

"Some people may have their concerns about our opening," Kim Whatley, Aquatics Division director for Cherokee Recreation and Parks, said in a video posted to the Aquatic Center Facebook page. "We are here to assure you that we are doing all we can to sanitize the surfaces, and keep the pool safe."
