The mother of the a teenager killed in a south Fulton County wreck Saturday is expected to be charged with second degree vehicular homicide, police said Wednesday.

Joshua Jenkins, 16, died when a van driven by Tamara Matthews, 36, veered into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle on Flat Shoals Road in south Fulton County, police told the AJC.

The accident occurred at about 1 p.m. at Flat Shoals' intersection with Harper Valley Drive. Five children and two adults were transported to a hospital with injuries. All children have been released.

The driver of the struck vehicle, Glenroy Walker, 35, also remains in critical condition.
