A motorist escaped serious injury early Wednesday when her car went down an embankment and crashed into a Buckhead parking deck.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was driving a Honda Accord through the parking lot of the Darlington apartments in the 2000 block of Peachtree Road about 4 a.m. when the car went down the embankment and overturned in the parking garage of an adjacent medical office building.

Atlanta police on the scene told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the woman had crawled out of the car and sought help from a nearby business when officers arrived.

They said she suffered a bruise to her eye and complained of chest pains, and was taken to a local hospital.
