Buford is updating its 2040 Comprehensive Plan and is seeking public input through a series of meetings, a survey available at www.surveymonkey.com/r/Buford2040_Survey1, and through comments submitted online at www.buford2040.com.
The 2040 Comprehensive Plan is a blueprint for how the community will grow over the next twenty years. The survey questions take about five minutes to answer and focus on housing, transportation, land use, economic development, and quality of life.
The plan will incorporate a variety of previous plans and studies, including the current Comprehensive Plan, to build on what the city already has in place. A periodic update to the plan is required to meet state requirements to maintain Qualified Local Government Status and remain eligible for state and federal assistance funding.
The next public meeting on the plan update will be Nov. 5.
