For the first time in its 74-year history, Bronner Bros. canceled its beauty and hair show and is instead hosting virtual events, the company said in a news release.

The Bronner Bros. International Beauty Show was scheduled for August 8 through 10 at Georgia World Congress Center and has served as a platform to train and showcase talented stylists and introduce new products and services for black clientele.

The show generates $60 million in revenue for Atlanta and attracts more than 30,000 attendees, according to the release.

“Our goal is to help the Black beauty industry stay inspired, engaged, and educated,” show operations Senior Vice President James Bronner said in the release. “We have faced challenges before, and there is no doubt that we will come out of this better and stronger because we’re in this together.”

The company will instead host a virtual show that will include a digital market for exhibitors to preview products, online educational classes, webinars catering to reopening your salon during the pandemic and live-streamed hair competitions.

Details on the virtual beauty show will be released at a later date.
