A trio suspected of operating a "rolling" methamphetamine lab remained in the Cobb County jail Wednesday night with no bond.

Police arrested Adam Williams, 28, of Hiram, David Johnson, 28, of Marietta and 38-year-old Tammy Usher of Villa Rica during an early-morning traffic stop near Powder Springs.

Cobb police spokesman Dana Pierce said officers stopped a Dodge Dakota pickup truck for a minor equipment violation shortly before 4 a.m. on Brownsville Road near Muirwood Drive.

Officers became suspicious of Usher, who was in the truck, and when she was patted down, police found suspected meth on her, Pierce said.

Usher possessed 1.9 grams of meth, according to her arrest warrant. The substance was field tested and confirmed to be the illegal methamphetamine. Williams also had 1.9 grams of meth and Allen had 5 grams, according to their arrest warrants.

When the officers checked the truck's bed, they found "various chemicals" believed to be used in the manufacture of meth, Pierce said.

"Whether or not they were actually cooking [meth] inside the truck, or just transporting materials, remains to be seen," Pierce said late Tuesday morning.

Other items found in the truck included glass jars, funnels, coffee filters and a methamphetamine cook book, according to arrest warrants.

The Cobb fire hazmat team was sent to the scene, and Brownsville Road was shut down Tuesday morning while authorities inventoried the chemicals in the back of the truck.

Pierce said the federal Environmental Protection Agency would oversee the disposal of the chemicals. The meth was sent to the state crime lab for further testing, according to the warrants.
