Phase II of Aviation Park is being developed near Cobb County International Airport.

The Town Center Community Improvement District (CID) and the Town Center Community Alliance funded Phase I for $2.7 million at the corner of Barrett Lakes Boulevard and Cobb Place Boulevard next to the end of the Cobb County International Airport runway.

Opened in November 2017, Phase I includes an open space for airplane viewing, a playground area, parking and a restroom facility along with a docking station for the Zagster Town Center Bike Share Program that was added in November 2015.

For an additional $400,000, the Town Center Community Alliance is working to secure local funding and philanthropic support for the Phase II Educational and Historical Installation Program.

In partnership with Kennesaw State University and the Town Center CID, Phase II at Aviation Park will be an innovative, educational exhibit and installation program.

Components will include a plane display, other innovative installments and several exhibits with an emphasis on art, history, S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering and math) and more.

Each interactive exhibit will include a curriculum.

This phase will engage visitors in the exploration of aviation history and science as well as their influence on Cobb County.
