It was easy to be green Saturday in Atlanta, as revelers warmed up for St. Patrick’s Day with a parade on Peachtree Street in Midtown.

The event began at noon with U.S. Rep. John Lewis as grand marshal.

It was among many events built around the famous day that are scheduled this month in metro Atlanta. From Atlantic Station to Alpharetta and Gwinnett County, people will have many chances to get their green on.

And beyond the holiday, there are plenty of fun -- and free -- activities coming up in March in the area.
