Atlanta police said Friday there have been no arrests in the shooting death of aspiring hip-hop artist Dezmond Wilson, but investigators continue to follow leads.

Wilson was killed around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday. A friend with him at a southwest Atlanta recording studio survived his wounds and was still recovering in Grady Memorial Hospital, according to police.

Wilson, 24, was working late at Stack ‘Em Entertainment when he and his friend, who has not been named, answered a late-night knock at the studio’s door.

Atlanta police Maj. Keith Meadows said Thursday that when Wilson opened the door, a man stepped from behind the person knocking, pushed his way into the studio and started shooting.

Wilson, the father of a 3-year-old boy, was shot multiple times.

Police have not disclosed a motive for the shooting.
