Atlanta police arrested a high school student at the New Schools at Carver on Wednesday after a gun was found on him.

“It appears an administrator was made aware of a student having a weapon on school property,” Officer Ralph Woolfolk told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “The administrator followed protocols by notifying the school resource officer and bringing the student into the office, whereby the student was found to be in possession of a handgun and narcotics.”

Ja’marrius Rucker, 19, was transported to Fulton County Jail, Woolfolk said.
