Foodies with a penchant for diverse global cuisines may want to consider exploring Atlanta's eclectic eats scene.

The metro was recently ranked one of the 50 foodie capitals of the world in United Kingdom-based flight delay compensation company Bott and Co’s new analysis on the world’s most diverse food scenes.
Analysts used Google Maps restaurant data on cities with a population of 1 million or more to determine which metros served the most national cuisines, such as Italian, Chinese, Ethiopian and more. The ranking also listed the top-rated restaurant for each cuisine in the city.

Of all the cities in the world, New York earned top honors with a whopping 94 national cuisines served around town, followed closely by London (89) and Toronto (73).
Atlanta ranked 29th overall with 44 national cuisines.
