Tony Stallings has been promoted to vice president of Retail Payments Office operations at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, announced Raphael Bostic, president and chief executive officer of the Atlanta Fed, according to a press release.
Bostic also announced Mary Gelpi has been promoted to assistant vice president in the Cash Function Office, based in the New Orleans Branch of the Atlanta Fed. The promotions were effective Dec. 1.
Stallings assumes responsibility for payments processing and customer support. He joined the Atlanta Fed in 1992 as an operations manager in payment services and was later promoted to project director in the financial technologies and support department. In 2006, he became an operations director in the RPO and transferred to human resources in 2012. Stallings was promoted to assistant vice president in facilities management in 2013. He earned a bachelor’s degree and an information technology project management certification, both from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Gelpi joined the New Orleans Branch of the Atlanta Fed in 1993 as a cash services management associate and was promoted in her first year to section manager. She held several positions in cash and check operations before moving to the cash function office as a senior cash analyst. Gelpi was promoted to a director in the Cash Function Office in 2007. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Loyola University.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and sections of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. As part of the nation’s central banking system, the Atlanta Fed participates in setting national monetary policy, supervises numerous commercial banks, and provides a variety of financial services to depository institutions and the U.S. government.
