Interactive games and funnel cakes are just a few things residents can look forward to at the Atlanta Fair, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Gates opened March 6 at the Turner Field Gray Lot with classic favorites such as the Towering Ferris Wheel, according to a news release.

Originally located at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, the fair moved directly across the interstate in 1993 when crews broke ground on Turner Field, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

Since its inception in 1980, the fair has blossomed into one of the largest in-town fairs in the Southeast.

The fair will leave town Sunday, April. 12.

Opening night admission was $1.

After opening night, entrance fees range between $2 and $8. Ride tickers also vary. Attendees are urged to call (470) 900-3247 for pricing information.

Children under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult  21 years or older on Friday and Saturday evening. One adult may escort up to four children, and all guests must be able to present a valid Georgia or government-issued photo ID.

Monday – Thursday, 5 -11 p.m.

Friday – 5-11:59 p.m.

Saturday Matinee: 1-5 p.m.

Saturday Evening: 5- 11:59 p.m.

Sunday: 1-11 p.m.
