Businesses in the city of Atlanta have until Feb. 15 to file their business license renewal applications. Once the application is filed, a business has until April 1 to pay the invoiced amount, the city has announced.

The business license renewal application and accompanying forms will not be automatically mailed to businesses in the city of Atlanta this year. All applications and forms can be found on the city's webstite, www.atlantaga.gov

To reduce paper waste and increase efficiency, businesses are urged to renew their business license using their PIN, online at web.atlantaga.gov/blis

Businesses will be penalized for failing to file. If they don’t submit a business license renewal application by the February 15 deadline, they will receive a failure to file notice and a $500 fine. Failure to pay their business tax by the April 1 deadline will result in a 10 percent failure to pay penalty. Unpaid balances accrue a monthly interest fee of 1.5 percent.
