Another RaceTrac Petroleum will be built on vacant land in Marietta.

The Marietta City Council voted recently to approve a variance for the proposed development.

This variance will waive the city’s site design mandatory requirement.

Now there does not need to be a 75-foot maximum front setback from the building to the property line along the public streets at 695 Powder Springs St. and 701 Sandtown Road.

There will be a right-in, right-only requirement for Powder Springs Street for this RaceTrac that will be built near a proposed townhome community.

Applicant attorney Adam Rozen for RaceTrac said five more variances that were requested by RaceTrac now will not be pursued.

Those variances included the monument sign and digital signs.

Beginning in 1934 in Missouri as Carl Bolch Trackside Stations, RaceTrac is headquarterd at 200 Galleria Parkway in Cobb County across I-285 from Truist/SunTrust Park.
