The Alpharetta City Council has approved a three-year sponsorship agrement with Northside Hospital for a health and wellness initiative involving the city parks.

Northside will donate to Alpharetta $50,000 a year for three years, according to a memorandum of understanding between the hospital and city. In return, the city will enhance the Wills Park Wacky World Playground in 2018; Wills Park Trail Head in 2019, and Alpharetta Greenway Trail Head in 2020.

The city will spend $40,000 a year on park enhancements that will include new and renovated equipment, landscaping and signage; and $10,000 a year on health and wellness programs offered free throughout the city, such as yoga, aerobics, water exercises (during the summer), walking and general fitness.

The Northside Hospital logo will appear on all sponsored program materials, and a “thank you” advertisement will be placed in the Alpharetta Guide Book, Recreation & Parks Department program guides, and social media posts related to the programs.
