Downtown Alpharetta will host two consecutive Saturdays of holiday events, with “Light the Night” on Dec. 1, and “Magical Winter Village” on Dec. 8.

Light the Night will begin with pre-event festivities include free visits with Santa, marshmallow roasting, children’s crafts, face painting and balloon art. Community groups will present a festival program on a large stage, culminating at 6:15 p.m. with the lighting of a 45-foot live spruce tree.
This year’s SEC Championship game will be broadcast live on the big screen beginning at 4 p.m. on the Village Green. Also, Alpharetta Mayor Jim Gilvin will announce a holiday food drive, Dec. 1-21, benefiting North Fulton Community Charities.
Magical Winter Village on the Village Green will offer visits with Santa, strolling holiday characters, musical performances, children’s crafts and marshmallow roasting. Stores will stay open into the evening.
The Alpharetta Chamber of Commerce will provide a complimentary gift-wrapping station. North Fulton Community Charities will be on site to collect non-perishable food donations. Donors will receive a booklet with holiday savings at more than 50 local businesses.
