Fayette County Public Schools announced Wednesday that all five of its high schools improved their 2016 SAT scores. All placed within the top 22 percent of Georgia schools, with an average county composite score of 1567, a 30-point increase over last year.

Fayette County High students showed the biggest gain, with the average score 77 points above 2015. McIntosh posted a 30-point increase, Starr’s Mill rose by 13 points, Whitewater improved by seven points and Sandy Creek by five points. By subject matter, the average in Fayette County was 529 for both math and critical reading, and 509 in writing.
