Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation will open Alexander Park in Lawrenceville during a grand opening celebration this coming Saturday at its pavilion area starting at 10 am with ribbon-cutting ceremony. At 9 am there will be a 2-mile Fun Run to benefit the Gwinnett YMCA. There will also be free kids activities and disc golf tournament. The park features an 18-hole disc golf course, horseshoe pit area, one-mile soft surface trail, Lakeview piers, 3.7-mile paved multi-purpose trail, outdoor classroom, playground and pavilions.
