Alcohol sales now allowed at Duluth golf courses

The Duluth City Council voted May 9 to permit the sale of alcoholic beverages for consumption on golf courses. The amendment to city code comes after the owners of two golf courses in Duluth requested a review by the Alcohol Review Board.

The sale of beer, wine and distilled spirits are permitted for retail consumption as long as sales are made in a clubhouse, outside of the clubhouse, or on the golf course itself from a mobile or satellite location between the first and final hole on the course.

Duluth defines a golf course as an outdoor golf course covering one acre or more and containing at least nine tees, fairways and greens.
