1981 -- On June 29, Morris E. Roberts Jr., a mentally ill gunman, seized the Atlanta headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, holding nine employees hostage for three hours. Roberts was shot and killed by the FBI SWAT team and the Atlanta Police. Two hostages received minor leg injuries. Here, one of the wounded hostages is being transported to the hospital.
