A contract was awarded recently to prepare for the construction of the Acworth Community Center.
Croft and Associates received the $755,200 contract and scope of services for professional design services and construction administration from the Acworth Board of Aldermen.
In a related matter, TerraMark Land Surveying, Inc. will provide a topographic and underground utility survey for the community center site for $8,200. Also, a sidewalk repair contract has been awarded to AquaGuard Foundation Solutions. This technique/process raises settled concrete slabs, avoiding repair by replacement.
The aldermen decided to waive the sealed-bid process and award this single-source contract for $8 per square foot with a guaranteed price not to exceed $15,000. Funding for these projects will come from the 2016 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
