Acworth barber shop 'like a spa for men'

Customer Mike Watkins gets the royal treatment from Lakeside Barber Shop barber/owner Mary Evans. At the Acworth shop, the personnel are all women and they call themselves barbers, not stylists. And their clientele are men and boys only.

Evans and her fellow female barbers opened their unique shop here just three months ago.

Barber Elizabeth Albarran shaves Gerald DeClemente with a straight razor. The price is $35 for haircut and shave.

Julia Bassett twists a warm wet towel before placing it on Bob Stahl of Cartersville.

The barbershop reminds Bob Stahl of places in Missouri, where he grew up. "... In all this dry weather, it feels so good to get the hot, moist towels on the face," he said.
