Construction is underway on a 175-room hotel across the street from the Georgia Aquarium and close to other downtown Atlanta attractions.
Five of Hyatt Place Centennial Park’s expected 11 stories have been constructed on Luckie Street. Plans call for a pool, fitness center, a parking deck, meeting areas and retail spaces.
Atlanta-based developer Songy Highroads and Hyatt Hotels Corporation acquired the land in late 2017 and closed on a $32.9 million construction loan in March, a press release said.
The hotel is slated to open in August.
"The hotel is across the street from Georgia Aquarium's new shark exhibit which we know will be a major tourism draw, so we're thrilled we've made such progress on construction," Todd Nocerini, SHR's chief operating officer, said in a statement.
Hyatt Place Centennial Park will be SHR’s sixth Hyatt-branded development since 2014. Construction is being handled by Reeves Young; the architect is Wakefield Beasley.
