The College Park Police Department is now offering a $10,000 reward for anyone who can lead them to the person that led police on a chase and caused a fatal wreck, killing a grandmother and her grandchildren, Channel 2 Action News reports.
Dorothy Wright, 75, and her two grandchildren, Cameron Cosner, 12, and Layla Partridge, 6, were heading to First Peter AME Church Sunday morning, when they were killed by a man fleeing police.
Initially, police didn’t know Partridge was involved in the accident. An investigating trooper found out there was a third person in the vehicle after notifying the family about the deaths of Wright and Costner.
The 6-year-old was found 11 hours later heavily covered with brush near the crash site.
The suspect believed to be driving a stolen SUV plowed into Wright’s car, then escaped.
Police chased him from College Park to southwest Atlanta, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. The high-speed chase ended on South Gordon Street and Rogers Avenue, when the 1995 Buick LeSabre that Wright was driving flipped over on impact.
College Park police, who were pursuing the stolen vehicle before the chase, said they lost sight of the Suburban right before they came up on the crash.
