Thyssenkrupp Elevators, a German company, announced Thursday that it plans to open a new North American headquarters in the Battery area of SunTrust Park in Cobb County.

The new facility is expected to create more than 600 jobs and Cobb's tallest building--a 420-foot elevator test tower.

Thyssenkrupp will lease the land from the Atlanta Braves’ development company. The project will receive millions in local tax abatements.

A spokesperson for the Georgia Department of Economic Development said incentives from the state have not been finalized.
