Cobb County has cancelled Wednesday Night’s SPLOST renewal open house after discovering a worker at the West Cobb Library, where the event was to be held, had a possible exposure to coronavirus.

The worker has not been diagnosed with the virus but was sent home and while the building undergoes a deep clean out of “an abundance of caution,” the county said in a statement.

The statement said Cobb has formed a task force to direct the county’s response to the virus and has started taking proactive measures.

Tuesday night’s scheduled SPLOST Open House in Acworth will go on as scheduled.

Concerns about the coronavirus have resulted in the cancellation of many events and large gatherings.

The AJC will monitor these announcements and keep you informed about postponements, rescheduling and cancellations, but it’s best to check with venues or event organizers before making plans to attend.
