Cities across DeKalb County are looking to grow, bringing in more residents and businesses into their borders.

Communities under consideration for annexation are located near Atlanta, Chamblee, Decatur, Stone Mountain, Avondale Estates, Clarkston and more.

Annexations were on hold this year while state lawmakers considered creating new cities, but now neighborhood and municipal leaders are considering expansion plans that could be presented to the Georgia General Assembly next year.

As for forming cities, voters will decide in November whether to incorporate the city of Stonecrest, and the incoming city of Tucker was approved last year.
