ATLANTA - The race for Atlanta mayor is officially on and it is gaining national attention.

The AJC, WSB-TV, WSB Radio and the Atlanta Police Foundation are partnering to host Atlanta’s premier 2017 mayoral debate.

The live debate will feature all the leading candidates in this crowded race and will cover the issues that are important to Atlanta residents, including public safety, transportation, education and the economy.

You can watch the debate Sunday, October 22 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on WSB-TV or on AJC.com and on our Facebook page.

WSB-TV anchor Justin Farmer will serve as the moderator and be joined by WSB-TV political reporter Richard Elliot, Atlanta Journal-Constitution political reporter Greg Bluestein and WSB Radio manager of programming operations Condace Pressley to question the candidates.

In September, Channel 2 and the League of Women Voters hosted a forum featuring 13 of the mayoral candidates.
