Atlanta City Hall will be lit purple Friday night in honor of Prince, who died Thursday at age 57.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed said the lighting effect is meant to honor the widely-respected musician’s “life, legacy and music.”

The cause of death has not been announced; an autopsy was being performed Friday. Officials said at a news conference that there were no signs of trauma to Prince’s body and there was “no reason to believe it was a suicide.” He was found in an elevator in Paisley Park — the 9-acre, $10 million production complex and home Prince had built in 1986?

Prince's last two performances happened April 14 in Atlanta.

“As scores of people listen to Prince singing and playing the piano at the Fox Theater, his memory will be indelibly tied to our city and the fans who celebrated him here,” Reed said in a prepared statement.
