Atlanta Public Schools is not serving water in about two dozen of its schools because of a citywide boil water advisory.

“We are aware of water issues at approximately two dozen APS schools and we have notified all APS schools not to serve water to students until further notice. We are currently sending bottled water out to the schools affected. APS food service was not impacted, and we will maintain normal school operations today. We will be in touch with you as more information becomes available from the City of Atlanta,” the district said in a written statement.

The boil water advisory was issued because of a low water pressure problem at the Hemphill Pump Station.

Here’s what you should do to keep your family safe when a boil-water advisory has been issued.
