Ten Atlanta schools will have new principals next school year.
Ellis Duncan will become principal of Douglass High School, one of the city's lowest performing high schools and a school that has churned through principals at the rate of about one every two years.
Gail Johnson will be principal of Sutton Middle School and Kevin Scott will lead Young Middle School, which has also seen high principal turnover in recent years.
Other new principals are:
- Anyee Moreland – Cleveland Avenue Elementary School
- Desmond Moore - Fain Elementary School
- Brent McBride – Jackson Elementary School
- Cynthia Gunner – Peyton Forest Elementary School
- Diamond Jack – Michael R. Hollis Innovation Academy, the new K-8 school replacing Bethune Elementary that will be located in the former Kennedy Middle School building
- Susan Crim McClendon – Woodson Park Elementary, the new school created by merging Woodson Primary and Grove Park Intermediate schools
- Lincoln Woods – Tuskegee Airmen Global Academy, the new school created by merging Connally and Venetian Hills Elementary schools
