Father Joel M. Konzen, the Marist School's current principal, will become president of the school, effective July 1, officials announced in a press release.

Vice Principal and Academic Dean Kevin Mullally will succeed him as principal at the school of about 1,100 from seventh grade through 12th.

Father Konzen began his history at Marist School in 1980 as a teacher, rising through the ranks from admissions director to principal and president before leaving in 1989. He returned as president in 1999.

Mullally came to the school in 2008, and became the vice principal and academic dean at the beginning of this school year.

Acting President Father William Rowland, will return to his post as special assistant to the president when Father Konzen assumes the presidency.

The school. founded in 1901, is owned and operated by the Society of Mary, commonly known as the Marists.
