The new principal at Toomer Elementary School is a familiar face.

Caroline Brown has been named principal of the Atlanta elementary school, an appointment confirmed by the school board at an Aug. 5 meeting.

Brown had filled in as the school's interim principal since November, taking over after the resignation of Toomer principal Ashley Adamo.

She worked in Atlanta Public Schools since 2001, including as a teacher, as an instructional coach providing support to teachers, and as an assistant principal at Burgess-Peterson Academy. She’s also worked as an assistant principal at Barack and Michelle Obama Academy.

Brown received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree from Georgia State University.
