How to access the new federal financial aid app

This video shows how to download the new federal financial aid form to your phone.

U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos visited Atlanta Wednesday to show a mobile app that launched Monday that's supposed to make it easier for prospective college students or their parents to apply for federal financial aid.

Here’s how it works:

1. Go to the app store on your smartphone and type “FAFSA,” which stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

2. Click on “myStudentAid” and download it.

3. The app should appear on your phone with three different options: one for students, one for parents and one for preparers. Choose the one that applies for you.

Atlanta among airports where FAA will cut flights due to shutdown

The U.S. Department of Transportation will cut flights by 10% across 40 of the nation’s busiest airports on Friday to alleviate pressure on air traffic controllers.
