A Gwinnett County school bus driver was taken to the hospital after crashing into a tree early Tuesday, officials said.

No students were on the bus.

Gwinnett County Public Schools spokeswoman Sloan Roach said the bus "went off the road" at the intersection of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and North Berkeley Lake Road. Photos from the scene suggest the bus hit some kind of sign in addition to a tree.

Roach said the driver was "transported" but specific details about the injuries were not released. A possible cause for the crash was also unclear Tuesday morning.
