Gwinnett County school officials are showing off one of its new schools Sunday.

The school district has scheduled an open house for the public to see Coleman Middle School on 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 24. The school is at 3057 Main St. in Duluth, near Duluth High School.

Coleman is the first Gwinnett STEAM school. integrating science, technology, engineering, the fine arts and math. Coleman will have a dance studio as part of its arts curriculum.

The school is named after state Rep. Brooks Coleman, R-Duluth, a former Gwinnett educator who is chairman of the House of Representatives education committee.

Coleman is one of two new Gwinnett schools opening this fall. The other is Baldwin Elementary School, in Norcross.

Both schools have scheduled a “Meet Your Teacher” event on Aug. 4. Classes start on Monday, Aug. 8.
