The DeKalb County School District will hold two public hearings to hear from parents, teachers and students as the board submits an application to the state to be declared a charter district.

The public hearings will be Oct. 5 at 1:30 and 5 p.m. in the J. David Williamson Board Room at the DeKalb County Schools headquarters in Stone Mountain.

The hearings are being held on the same day as the school board’s monthly meeting, so it may vote on submitting the application.

The board has until the end of October to vote on the matter.
