Atlanta high school graduates are getting their pomp and circumstance.

Atlanta Public Schools on Tuesday announced dates for outdoor graduation ceremonies for 14 high schools.

The district delayed the ceremonies because of the coronavirus, and instead held virtual celebrations. Officials had pledged to hold outdoor ceremonies when it was deemed safe.

On Tuesday, the district announced ceremonies will be held July 20-23 at Lakewood Stadium in southeast Atlanta. The district reserved July 24 as a make-up-date, should any ceremonies be canceled because of inclement weather.

Social distancing guidelines will be enforced. Dates could change if health guidelines prevent people from gathering, the district noted.

The ceremonies will take place in the morning and evening to avoid Georgia's harsh summertime heat.
