Atlanta Public Schools has scheduled nine community meetings in August and September as leaders begin work on the district's next strategic plan.

The meetings are a chance for parents, students, employees and community members to provide input about the direction of the district.

The current five-year strategic plan ends in 2020 and focused on strengthening the district's academics, recruiting and retaining talented employees, improving the district's systems and procedures, and fostering a caring culture.

The sessions will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on the following dates:
