AJC Sepia HBCU of the Week: Cheyney University - Notable Graduates

Founded in 1837 as the African Institute, before becoming the Institute for Colored Youth, the school that is now know as Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, has been educating black men and women for close to 200 years as the nation's oldest black institution of higher education. Since it started, the school has graduated more than 30,000 students. Here are some of their brightest.
