Agnes Scott College welcomed its largest class of new students in its history to its campus in Decatur on Thursday, officials said.
An estimated 325 first-year students are enrolled at the all women’s college this semester, officials said. The prior high mark was 272, set in 2015 and 2016, according to the college.
The class represents 28 states and 11 nations.
Also new on campus is its president, Leocadia "Lee" Zak. Zak, a former director of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, was hired in January, replacing Elizabeth Kiss, who left after 12 years at Agnes Scott to become warden and chief executive officer of the Rhodes Trust.
