A father shot and killed his son early Monday morning in Forsyth County, officials said.

No charges have been filed in the death of 46-year-old Michael Busbee, who was shot by Charles Allen Busbee, 74, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

“The investigation is closed on our end and now the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office will review and determine if any criminal charges will be filed,” sheriff’s office spokesman Cpl. Doug Rainwater said.

Officials had previously called the death a “domestic-related shooting.”

Sheriff’s deputies were called to Berry Patch Drive in northwest Forsyth about 12:25 a.m. Monday. They did not provide details about the incident.
