Silver-tongued actor Sam Elliott recently lent his voice to a new ad for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, and the reaction to the 1-minute clip has nearly had some social media users urging the actor to launch his own campaign. But others were not so impressed with the star’s apparent endorsement.

Elliott, known for his role in “A Star is Born,” narrates Biden’s latest campaign promotion, proclaiming “There is only one America" in the voiceover. The ad premiered on television Tuesday during the first game of the World Series.

“Just this great land and all that’s possible on it with a fresh start.”

“There is so much we can do if we choose to take on problems and not each other, and choose a president who brings out our best,” Elliott continues over a piano rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Biden promoted the ad on his Twitter page late Tuesday with a caption “It’s time we see each other as fellow Americans who live in — and love — the United States of America.” The post has since been retweeted more than 23,000 times and liked nearly 100,000 times.

Though Elliott does not have any on-camera time, his vocal presence and message has astounded several who watched the commercial.

As much as the classic actor got praise for his baritone ode to America, the disdain for what some considered an online endorsement of the Democrat was just as apparent.

Elliott, 76, has not endorsed either candidate. However, the actor told the Metro in 2017 that it was “mind-boggling” that Donald Trump had become president.

“I think Trump won because he didn’t have someone running against him that was electable,” he said at the time. “But he spoke to that vast whole out there that had been neglected forever.”
