The sister of late singer George Michael was found dead on Christmas Day.
It was the three-year anniversary of the pop icon's death.
Reports say Melanie Panayiotou, 55, was found dead Wednesday at her home in North London.
George Michael was 53 when he died on Christmas Day 2016 at his home in the Goring-on-Thames village, in Oxfordshire, England.
A coroner's report revealed in March 2017 that the singer died from heart failure and liver disease.
Michael willed most of his multimillion-dollar estate to Melanie and his other older sister, Yioda Panayiotou.
Reports say Melanie and Michael were close.
A hairdresser, she traveled with Michael on tour at the height of his music career and worked on his looks, reports said.
Panayiotou had reportedly become ill not long before she died, according to family, who were described in reports as being “absolutely devastated” at the news of her death.
Yioda was with Panayiotou at the time and called for help, reports said.
An official cause of death has not yet been determined.
London Metropolitan Police said they do not suspect foul play.
A statement was issued through the family lawyer, John Reid, which said, "We can confirm that very tragically Melanie has passed away suddenly. We would simply ask that the family's privacy be respected at this very sad time."
People magazine reports that in the days before the anniversary of Michael’s death, Panayiotou thanked his fans for their continued support. She was said to be alongside Yioda, Michael’s father, Jack, and longtime manager David Austin.
